Will cancel appointments on you without notifying you, happened to me 3 times in a 6 month span. This last time when I called to ask why found they go through a call center person told me they scheduled appointment wrong and that is what they cancelled.... Bunch of clowns work here dont waste your time here and just go to a real doctor.
This has been twice now that I have been left outside seeking my birth control. I set an appointment through DocAsap and was never informed by this location that they are not opened on Saturdays. The hours on their center clearly say open on Saturdays. I have had to reschedule for a second time at a different location this time during my work week to get my birth control. I specifically scheduled a weekend appointment so that I wouldn’t have to take time away from work and make up extra hours just for my birth control. I have been very disappointed in Planned Parenthood. I was also forced to walk across the street to this location due to a marathon on the street. Planned Parenthood prides itself on privacy but I had to walk to my health center in front of dozens of people. There is no system to reach the healthcare centers directly so I was on hold the two times I called in only to be told by the answering service this location isn’t open on Saturdays nor the call centers. Highly disappointed and already a young woman who feels her reproductive health is under fire, not being able to have my birth control by setting up an appointment, makes me even more so. Rethink before booking this location or even Planned Parenthood. I have had a bad experience not only at this location but Gladstone as well.
I left services here and heard their phone person straight up lie to someone phoning in about what services they do and do not provide. Worst choice for the worst off.
I recently visited here(4/15 morning) and WOW every single person that helped me was SO kind. I was very nervous for my appointment, but they all made me feel incredibly comfortable and welcomed. They answered all my questions, gave me recourses, and even asked if they could hug me. I left without feeling like i had been shamed or feeling like i inconvenienced them(which i usually feel that way leaving health centers because i can be a lot). I will only come here from now on. Thank you PLANNED PARENTHOOD :)
They did a great job of inserting my IUD. The nurse midwife was respectful, informative, and took her time to explain all the steps to me before they happened. She also provided great education and I left feeling empowered. The RHA employees were polite, professional, and gendered me correctly every time. I would go back here for further care!
Why is it so hard to simply call and ask to speak to someone at the front desk I have a general question and I’ve been trying to speak to an actual person for 30 minutes now
Update: Ive had my birth control appointment canceled twice in 1 month already cause nobody is ever in on Saturdays it seems yet they keep allowing you to schedule for that day. Why bother if no one will be in to attend those patients? Just take that day off the booking calendar and dont play with peoples fertility and lives. So unprofessional.Great health services, not so great customer service. Got to my appointment after driving 30 minutes and was instantly turned away since I brought my 2 year old with me who I cant leave at home alone cause her dad works full time. Any other medical place always lets you bring your child(ren) with no qualms.
Dr Reed and the staff were so helpful! They were very understanding and listened to my concerns and helped me with what I needed . For what in my mind is a very uncomfortable process, Dr Reed made it as painless and uncomplicated as possible 💖. I’m afraid of doctors so I was glad to take charge of my health and feel supported .
My experience with the team here has been excellent! From the telehealth intake and meeting with the doctor, to coming in and getting my blood drawn and the doctor making sure that I had what I needed to pick up my prescription I could not be happier! I felt respected, cared for and safe! Everyone is awesome and maple does great at drawing blood! Thank you planned parenthood for providing affordable services.
To start, I went in for an IUD consultation and the receptionist in training botched my paperwork, managing to lose it within the 30 minutes I was there. She didnt fill out my file on the computer correctly so I was surprised by them telling me I had to pay out of pocket. I didnt receive my drivers license back in the shuffle. Driving 30 minutes out of town, I realize I left my ID. I called 12 times on my way back and no one answered. Google said they closed at 1:30 pm as did the sign on their door. I got there at 1:06 pm and everyone was gone. I had to wait until Monday to get my ID back and no one returned my calls. When I went in, the receptionist said, Which one are you? and pulled out a stack of drivers licenses. Apparently, this is a common thing. She was not very pleasant. My actual insertion appointment was okay but a few weeks later, my IUD came partially out. I called and called but no one answered. I ended up calling the Gladstone location who booked me for this location. I never got a follow up call or a call stating whether or not my insurance would cover the replacement. I had to have my appointment pushed back 24 hours to give them more time to contact the insurance. I called the main hotline for Planned Parenthood who has sent over multiple notifications to this location for follow up. My appointment is in 50 minutes and I still havent heard back from them about my insurance.Update: After waiting 30 minutes in the lobby, checked in for my appointment, I asked the receptionist the status of my insurance. She told me she just got off the phone with them and had called me back WHILE I WAS IN THE LOBBY! She then said it wasnt her problem that I was having such a negative experience with these appointments.I love Planned Parenthood and have volunteered for them in the past. But this location needs new front desk staff.
I love Planned Parenthood! This location has definitely improved. I went in yesterday for an IUD. The midwife who placed my IUD was amazing! She had great energy, good vibes, she was so gentle, nice & patient & explained the whole process to me. I’m so happy I chose a great place to get this done.
Best and Cheapest medical care Ive ever received. Its not like the regular doctors where you get rushed out the door. They make sure all of your questions are answered before you leave. And they ask about your comfortably with everything during your visit. I wish I could go here for all of my healthcare needs.
I really wanted to support PP with my patronage.I only needed an appointment that should take fifteen minutes. I wasnt even called for two hours. I then waited another thirty in the room for the doc to come in and ask if I had any questions and tell me to have a nice day.Ive called repeatedly to get an itemized bill since I didnt have my insurance card yet, I have to bill the insurance myself, but in order to do that I simply need a copy of the bill.I will not be going back. The people were very nice and kind, but the wait and the inability to contact them based on their business hours have been an inconvenience I cant continue.I will volunteer and donate financially, but something needs to improve as far as services are concerned.
Painless IUD insertion! In and out within 1 hour. They accept my insurance and I was able to come in within a week of my appointment request! Danielle was amazing and can’t recommend her enough!! She was so nice and prompt! Thankful for PP and all their services to women
I did read over the reviews of this clinic before I visited, however I had already arranged the appointment. I was worried that I would be turned away at the door with a cancelled appointment or that I would be met with rude service. What I experienced here could not be further from that. I made an early morning Saturday appointment and the ladies here were all very courteous and kind. Granted, the exam rooms arent well-equipped or pristine as this is a Planned Parenthood building, but the nurses were wonderful and understanding of my situation. I would definitely come back again.
The nurse practitioner, Jessica, should return to her institution where she got her education, and ask for her money back. Instead of Introducing herself In a more formal way and trying to learn relevant Information regarding my visit, she walked into the patient room, told me to lie back, and bragged about “this is all I do everyday”, but couldn’t answer the a general question like “how long does ovulation take?”; “how long does implantation take?”; nor did she have the decency to go look it up.I was livid because I had to tell the nurse practitioner that I wanted to know my options before agreeing to an IUD. I wanted to know how each one would work and the side effects of each. She seemed to become annoyed with my questions, and after a growing temper and crossing her legs — she stated “I’ll give you pamphlet after you choose so that you can know more about the particular one that you have inserted”.I quickly became doubtful of her expertise. I asked her why she felt or the science supports the copper IUD more, she repeatedly answered questions with “I cannot answer that, I don’t know.” She’s useless. She seemed to push the copper IUD decision on me but couldn’t tell me why it was better than the hormonal. The nurse practitioner that saw me is very prideful in a negative way that could affect the life of a patient. Instead of the insertion take the suggested 10-15 minutes. It took her 22 minutes of attempting to insert it, and she blabbed at the fact that it was because I was too narrow and hadn’t had kids. Almost, as if it was my fault that she hadn’t had proper training on insertion of IUD with standard and different sized canals.I sat in agony and disbelief for 22 minutes before requesting other support. She went to go get another lady named Chante who finished the process in 5 minutes.Clearly, the nurse practitioner should take some pointers from the midwife named Chante. The Nurse Practitioner’s moral concept seems to be way off from what Planned Parenthood preaches. As a medical school student, I question if she’s even worthy of being in field that honors the autonomy of the patient and beneficence of the practitioner to make sound decisions. That nurse practitioner Is failing her patients by not being informed and knowing the basics of reproductive health. Had she been able to answer those simple two questions, It would’ve made a difference in if I chose an IUD that was more sperm focused or an IUD that stopped implantation, as a form of emergency contraceptive. If the nurse practitioner with pale skin, Brown to reddish hair enters your room with loafers… RUN!
Staff is amazing😄😄 I was very nervous at first but I was greeted with smiles and everyone made me feel so comfortable within minutes, they answered all of my questions and gave me many recommendations, I will definitely be coming back. There are some great women working here, doing a lot to help all of us out. Thank you all for such a welcoming and comforting environment.
Lady was rude scheduling me. Lady at the front desk had zero customer service, didnt make eye contact, and spoke too softly to hear...I had to ask her to repeat herself after just about every other sentence. 90 min waiting room wait. Bathroom sink didnt work. Nurses were judgmental about me this being my first sexual health and pap in my late 20s. She was also judgmental about my refusal of hormonal birth control.I came to Planned Parenthood because they so often advertise not being judgmental and I found the exact opposite to be true.Actual doctor was much better, but still lacked some bedside manner and wasnt as thorough as I hoped.I received no written or verbal results of my pap or sexual health screen. I happened to catch a nurse on my way out and asked about my rapid results hiv test, and she told me, but clearly had no intention otherwise.I have called 4 times and left messages...no answer, no response.Worst health clinic experience of my life. I will never go back and recommend you dont either.
The office manager April is terrible. I called in and she said Im checking in patients right now, if you want you can hold, but it could be up to ten minutes. I told her that was fine and so she put me on hold... Or so I thought. The line went dead after two minutes. Not something that happens on hold. So I tried to call back fifteen times over the next hour and it went to voicemail after one, two, or three rings every time. Mind you, the business was still open, so it wasnt because I was calling after hours. She just recognized my number and would send the call to voicemail. Very immature and unprofessional.
Made me feel really welcome. Got me well taken care of for my issues/needs. Definitely recommend. Staff was so nice I really appreciate them !
This place is absolutely amazing! The staff is WONDERFUL and so welcoming! Lashay and Dr. Danielle were perfect! So nice and sweet I didn’t catch the first lady’s name I talked to when I came in but she had long pretty brown and blonde hair who was also amazing! I wish they did OBGYN because I would DEFINITELY go to them for all my needs
I had a very positive experiance. I Drove from topeka ks for two appointments so i could get my nexplanon removed, and a new one inserted. The first appointment i made online thinking it all would be done then on the first apt but it was just a consultation. I wish i would of known that but im a new patient so it makes sense. The whole time i was so comfortable and they were very attentive. The receptionist was great, the staff was friendly, professional, and wait time was minimal on both visits which is a plus. They made sure to answer any and all questions i had and the removal/insertion process was a breeze! Both the nurses/doctors were punctual and easy to talk to. I definitely recommend this office!
The staff is friendly and helpful. I made an appointment in advance and got in and out within a reasonable amount of time. I know this particular branch gets a lot of traffic, but they really are so nice and very professional every time I go in. Really appreciate Planned Parenthood
Half the time Ive called during business hours they dont answer, the office staff are extremely rude, Im constantly put on hold and feel like I have to fight to schedule an appointment. Ive held out on making this review because Ive had good experiences with the actual nurses and doctors, whove been friendly but Ive been going to this clinic for over 2 years out of necessity and the service has continued to decline. If you can avoid it DO NOT go to this clinic! Its worth the drive to go elsewhere!
This place has the worst customer service ever. I had to wait for a month, thinking that I would be abled to get my procedure on the day of my appointment. I came in and waited for almost an hour for the nurses and doctor to ask me the same type of questions and send me home with a pamphlet. I waited one month for a pamphlet. The place couldnt even schedule you and you have to either call or make the appointment online. Im going to call my insurance. They are not getting paid for just giving me a pamphlet.
Great place to go if you need reproductive health services! You cant get help like this anywhere else and virtually free of charge. Great, cheap access to birth control. Staff is usually friendly and you can get in an out! Ive been coming here since I was 18 and I love it. I recommend Planned Parenthood to women and men alike. Its a very useful place. Take advantage!
Made appointment 3 weeks ago was told that my pcp will only see sick patients when I told receptionist my concerns she asked the coordinator which made me appt for today. Got a call less then 1 he from my appt telling me that pcp will not see my hypertension and low potassium.
Absolutely terrible. I’ve gone several times to fill a prescription and each time it’s something else. Long wait times, walk-ins were seen before I was. I was there more than 20 minutes before my appointment and still wasn’t seen until almost 20 after my appointment! And then was told I was scheduled for the wrong thing and they’d have to schedule my next appointment out almost 3 weeks. Staff is rude.
Planned Parenthood, I scheduled an doctors appointment to get birth contr (Nexplanon) when scheduling my appointment I made it clear what type of birth control I wanted. When arriving to my appointment I was 15 minutes early and 30 minutes late being seen. The medical assistant asked what was I being seen for and I explained birth control (Nexplanon) 10 minutes later the nurse practitioner come in my patient room and ask me what am I being seen for and explained birth control (Nexplanon). After explaining over and over again I was able to get the Nexplanon the nurse practitioner told me I would have reschedule an appointment to have the procedure done. I contacted my insurance company about the issue, if they think their getting paid good luck. Please the company never answer their telephone when you call! Terrible customer service.
Went for an appt. My appt was set for 9:50am I arrived at 9:36am. By 10:36am I had only peed in a cup and had my blood pressure taken, the rest of that time was spent in a freezing cold room. I left due to the wait. The staff was friendly just not punctual.
They say no call is a good call but after 2 weeks I called only to find out they had lost my labs.. So I get stuck with a needle again wait another week and now they say blood was rejected. What should have taken a week has taking a month .Incompetence at it finest !
Be cautious of which provider you see. Nurse practitioner Brown ignored my chief complaint and misdiagnose my condition which caused a lot of problems for me.
Went here to have my 13 yr old son/daughter aborted and they gave me a number of a guy to call... we made it happen
Were not affiliated with your state... You could call your physician and get your pharmacist to send for a refill if you have an active birth control prescription because we dont have that on hand........ is what I was told coming from out of town needing an emergency refill. Like I would be here if the previous was an option. World class rodiculousness. This place is trash. Horrible receptionist.
The staff here have only ever been the kindest most caring people to me. Ive been treated better when getting blood taken and having my immunizations done than with any professional Doctors office
Each time I come here for a simple depo shot they loose me in the system. I have been coming here since January 2017. Its a new year and Im still being asked if Im sure I had my shot three months ago. Polite front desk staff but an overall inefficient system, everytime. 😔
I don’t know why they told me to bring in my paycheck stub if they aren’t going to use it. The waiting time is ridiculous. The staffs are not as nice and friendly as Overland Park. Tbh, i should of made the drive instead. Im writing this as i sit in the back waiting for someone. I’ve been waiting for 45 mins. Jesus.
I havent had any issues till this last time. My prescription was never faxed to the pharmacy. I have tried calling. Monday all day, there answering machine was saying they were closed, should of been open. I have left multiple messaged with no reply. I think its time to find an obgyn.
Worse place to go, I called if they do treatment for a sti and they told me yes, and wen I arrive they told me they didnt do it. Just made me waste my time and gas.
Do not waste your time here. Ive had my appointments cancelled twice. They cancelled through text and didnt even have the courtesy to call and tell me why or try to reschedule.
This place is fantastic!! Women need access to safe health care and this place is great. The nurses are very nice and informative. I’ve been going here for years.
Went to go get an IUD. They never called Medicaid to get my insurance to pay for it. On top of that they never returned calls. Its been two months and Ive called 4 times.
I had a great experience.Lets be real noboday wants to be there but they made it so relaxed Ill be going back and taking my teenager with me!
Ive never had a problem. All staff has been nice to me and listened to my concerns. The wait isnt too long.
It’s Monday, they open at 9am, not an employee in sight but 3 waiting customers... smh after reading reviews everything is likely to be true. It’s 9:07 watch they have attitudes
Great place loved the people here. So nice unlike the people in the Overland Park location. I would recommend this place. Only con about my visit was the wait. Other than that I got what I needed.
Everyones been super nice. Got here 20 mins early did my paper work and the wait times have been super chill.
I stood outside trying to get buzzed in for 30 minutes. I never got in. I called and got an answering machine. When i called again, i was told they couldnt get ahold of the front desk and there was nothing they could do.
This place is SLOW AS HELL.... If you set a appointment with them make sure you have NOTHING to do the rest of the day cause you will be waiting and waiting and waiting which is ridiculous... I HATE THIS PLACE THROW THE WHOLE BUILDING AWAY.....
Staff have always been kind to me and they will help you even if you dont have insurance
Wow really my apopointment was at 420 and I arrived at 4pm and didnt get checked in until 515 and wasnt seen until 6 something dont come here!!!!
You might want to put your medical records fax number on your website. Because its really hard to get someone to answer the phone.
My appointment was 3:30 an it was the most boring place I have ever been too
This place had Amazing staff and it was super kind n welcoming. ❤️
Really nice staff and people
Very respectful very kind and very informative with resources thank you
They charged $124 just to take my blood pressure
Very professional and kind staff. Highly recommended
