Dr. Stowe~Quain was so sweet, professional, friendly, caring, sympathetic and calm. I’m having to have a big surgery meaning no more kids and she allowed me the time to voice my concerns and how I felt emotionally about the surgery. She didn’t rush my mom and I and treated us like family. She answered all our questions and made sure I felt calm and at peace about my surgery. I love her and would recommend her to everyone!! She’s like a doctor, your mom, your best friend, and your favorite Aunt all rolled into one. So, you feel at ease telling her everything and getting your questions answered no matter how embarrassing, silly or uncomfortable you might think they are. This is why I trusted only her to deliver both my babies during my high risk pregnancy being a mom over 35. I was 37 when she delivered my daughter and 39 when she delivered my son. It was easy and I was at peace because I knew she would make sure me and my baby were both safe and went home happy and healthy.
I have only had one appointment so far but I wanted to share my experience. Despite previous negative reviews about the front desk staff, I had a great experience from start to finish. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. The ultrasound technician was great and really took her time trying to get good pictures to print out for us. And Dr. Shilling is amazing! He is thorough, attentive, and has a great bedside manner. He took the time to listen to my concerns and to build rapport with me and my husband. I didn’t feel like he was rushed to end the visit at all and it is clear that he genuinely cares about his patients! I am so glad I chose him to be my OB.
I cant say enough positive things about Dr. Stowe-Quain. Throughout my entire pregnancy, shes been more than just my doctor; shes been a guide, a source of reassurance, and someone who truly empowered me to trust myself and my body.Shes incredibly knowledgeable, yet she explains things in a way thats easy to understand. But what truly sets her apart is her authenticity. Shes real and doesnt shy away from answering even the most personal questions. I always felt comfortable and at ease discussing anything with her.I feel confident and prepared for childbirth. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for an OB who is not only an expert in their field but also an amazing listener and supporter.
I usually love coming to this clinic. This has been the place I have went for the past 5 years. The past visit and phone call has not been very pleasant. Ive never switched insurances before and the lady I had talked to about it before helped and talked with me about the struggles of insurance. Back in March, I was very nervous and she jotted down information that would help me find out the best insurance to be able to keep coming to this clinic. She knew how difficult it was getting off of medicaid and trying to find something better for young adults. Her advice was amazing. She even wrote down the pricing and info it would be without insurance if I didnt get it in time for my next appointment. This was my visit in March. When, I had my appointment this past Thursday it was my 1st time ever getting new insurance. I didnt have the card through mail yet because it was new. I tried to figure out and give all the info my insurance had given me. It didnt go through. I was told Id be billed until I call with my policy number that was given on the card. I had asked a few questions just to clarify I had all my information and what my insurance needed. You could tell they were annoyed. I call today and spoke with Gloria and it was hard to even get one word out of what I was trying to make sure and confirm. I wasnt even able to get a pen and write the phone number down before she started getting aggravated for relating back to the help I needed from Thursday. Usually all these ladies are very polite but these past couple of times were not. I understand frustration but the understanding of my frustration and being billed and having questions shouldnt seem like a complicated task for people working in this industry. I understand not caring about other peoples situation. But, this was a topic of health and what they do for work. If someone is needing help, they should be help with the concerns they are asking. These questions are more than basic knowledge questions and it would be nice to feel like I have everything understood and Im not being billed for an appointment showing my insurance isnt in there. Again, I normally love coming to this clinic and most of the people who work there love to talk with you and help you out but, the past phone call and visit was unpleasant.
Throughout my pregnancy I saw Dr. Vandersluis and she delivered my baby in May. Dr. Vandersluis was wonderful! She listened to my concerns, thoroughly answered any and all questions I had. When I had some concerning symptoms appear in my second trimester she was quick to respond, order blood work, and provide me a diagnosis and a game plan. I’m so grateful for her knowledge and look forward to having her as my provider moving forward.
The doctor I had years ago was extremely kind and understanding and guided me through my first ob/gyn experiences. She was wonderful. She left, and recently when I called to make an appointment, they said all her patients had been transferred to a different doctor. As this new doctor was a man and I had requested a woman when I first began going here, I asked if I could have a different doctor. The receptionist said no all her patients went to him so you have to go to him. I understand they are likely busy and overbooked and overworked as is, but that lack of choice and lack of understanding, especially after my previous experiences with my previous doctor, was upsetting. I guess I won’t be coming back.
I previously gave a 5-star review shortly after my 1st child was born as the original experience was great. However, my postpartum treatment was HORRENDOUS. I went in numerous times to get support with physical and mental issues I was struggling with shortly after having my child. I was told “it’s normal” and “everything is fine.” It took months of going in, seeing primary care doctors, and visiting the ER before they finally realized something was wrong. It took 10 months before they took me seriously, and as soon as they did, they discharged me from the clinic for “3 no shows”, one of which I was on a 72-hour hold in a mental institution because of the postpartum issues I was struggling with. I still remain untreated. I definitely would not recommend this facility to any mamas as you are treated as just a number, and your health will be neglected.
Over the course of 3 years they have not been accepting new Medicaid patients. I recieved the same refusal I got during my first pregnancy. They wont even take an existing Medicaid patient from another one of their UC locations. So plan your pregnancy for exactly 1-2 years from now when they might have an opening and can possiblybe seen by an OBGYN here. Disgusting the only place they can recommend is Peak Vista. Out of all the options in this City how is the only place available to Medicaid patients peak Vista? Also a representative from the county called me today and referred me to this location and said that they are accepting new Medicaid patients yet when I called hours later after getting the referral, the receptionist tells me that they wont accept new Medicaid patients till August of next year. LAUGHABLE.
Dr. Baer is amazing!! I had my first baby in March and loved the care I received during the pregnancy from Dr Baer and the entire office! All of my questions were answered, I felt heard and informed in all decisions. My son was a stinker when it came to labor and was born via c-section and there is no one else I would trust besides Dr Baer!
Dr. Baer cares about the wellbeing of his patients. I feel comfortable with him and know he always has my best interest at heart.
Lindsey Johnson is AMAZING. She has always helped me feel heard. She’s solved every single issue that I’ve had. She’s very alert and sympathetic towards her patients. I’ve never had a bad experience with Lindsey, and I’ve been seeing her for almost 2 years now.Recently, what has made me REALLY love her- was that she had diagnosed me with PCOS after 5 years of being dismissed from other doctors. She listened. She tested me. She took me seriously, unlike every other gynecologist and specialist I saw. I’m so thankful I found someone who actually cares!!
I have been going to this office for 15 years now. I have since moved from when I started going here, however I still make the 30min drive to come here because of the staff and great office. In all the years I have come here including pregnancy appointments and yearly checkups, I have never had a bad experience at this office.
Dr. Vandersluiss is amazing and so is the rest of her staff. She takes time to listen to you and really hear your concerns. Best GYN I have ever had
Dr. Baer is a wonderful provider who genuinely cares about his patients! I am proud to say he’s been my doctor for over 25 years! Truly the best in his field!
I had been a patient here for many years. My doctor left to another practice and they wanted to schedule me with her replacement. Her replacement was a male doctor whom I am uncomfortable seeing. They refused to allow me to see any of the other female doctors within the office and told me I would have to go elsewhere for care if I insisted on a female doctor. I thought this place was great until I was shown that I was just another number to them. Such a shame.
Dr. Baer and Dr. Johnson are fantastic! Both take the time to listen, they are factual, informative and trustworthy. Highly recommended them and wish that other Doctors and offices were as efficient and effective as this one.
Having spoken with friends in the medical field, this is a place best avoided given how bad my experience was. I almost died. Clearly are taking on too many patients and are not providing proper care and follow-up. Doctors rarely meet with patients themselves. Are willing to assume patients reports of pain or symptoms of complications are psychological even when it ultimately leads to induction or hospitalization. They care about ordering as many tests as possible to bill, but who knows if they ever actually review them. Had they simply done so in my case, I may have had my daughter vaginally with a short recovery time instead of an emergency csection, a stay in the icu, and a follow up hospitalization. Please go elsewhere.**I update this review now I’ve two years after the birth of my daughter. That is the depth of how strongly I feel this clinic and the care wete deficient. Please. I implore you, though I do not know you. Go anywhere else.****I am updating this now, with my daughter turning four in July. This is not a place to receive medical care from**
Be prepared to go to a completely different office if the doctor you initially saw didnt work out. Its a one and done situation here no patient sharing even if you never want to see your original doctor again. Cold and callous. Dont waste your time.
I recently gave birth in early august and had a phenomenal experience with Autumn Stowe-Quain & Jessica Williams. Autumn Stowe-Quain is my primary OBGYN, but ended up giving birth under the wonderful care of Dr. Willlams. All of my prenatal appointments that I had with Dr. Stowe-Quain were always fun and I felt comfortable addressing any issues I had. As a first time mom she was patient and really took the time to educate me. As for Dr. Williams, giving birth for the first time is always a scary situation, and she handled it with ease and made sure that I was well taken care of. She made the whole experience easier & the added humor was a plus! I highly recommend either of these lovely providers !
The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. The reception staff wasn’t especially friendly, but they got their job done. The nurses and medical staff were professional, and the PA who I saw was kind and responded thoughtfully to my questions/comments. I had to wait for an appointment cancellation to get in, and it felt pretty frantic trying to book the sudden opening, but that’s a UCHealth system decision and not the staff’s fault.
Provider was great.Front desk staff was extremely rude.I arrived 5 min early- I’m an RN at a local hospital & time off is very difficult - staff member checking me in, rudely let me know that I should have been there 30 min early to fill out paperwork. I had done all the paperwork online prior to the appointment as the app notified & instructed me.She begrudgingly told me that she would ask if the provider would be willing to see me- she disappeared to the back for 15 min (yes I timed it on my watch). While she was gone, I asked the other receptionist for the paperwork so that I could fill it out, it took me 2 minutes or less.Original receptionist returns and tells me with an attitude that the provider agrees to see me but that it will be after her next patient who has not even arrived yet…The receptionist could have given me the paperwork (it was literally one page) and had me quickly fill it out, while being kind and understanding (that I’m an RN who serves our community & that time off during work days is a luxury), and told me it would be okay that I was 5 minutes early instead of 30 minutes, and that they would do their best to get me seen pending the completion of the paperwork. Why even have your app if the check in forms on the app are not sufficient? The information I entered in the app was identical to the questions on the paper form- not to mention, all of this health history is my chart in epic from other UCH visits within your system. AND if a patient should arrive 30 min early, that should be in the app instead of a “arrive 10 min early or complete your check-in online” message, as well as a phone call to your patients. I am a healthcare professional and deeply do not appreciate being treated like I am a “problem” while being disrespected by your front desk staff… I was made to feel like a problem from the second I walked in the door as a new patient to this clinic.Patient-centered care should be the focus from start to finish. This includes being understanding of your patients and trying to accommodate them as best you can. If you don’t care about how you make patients feel, you should not be in any part of the healthcare system.Your front desk staff should be exceptional, they are the preview and the face of your clinic presented to your community.
Have been here for seven years now. Will not be returning. Had my annual exam a few weeks ago. My results came back and I literally was having a panic attack because my results randomly said “patient is pregnant” so I call the office in a panic and kindly asked to speak to a nurse or leave a message on someone’s voicemail because I was in a panic and thought someone had made a mistake. The receptionist, I don’t even remember her name, something with an “M” I believe was like a heartless robot just repeating “use the online portal use the online portal, no I won’t connect you to anyone, use the online portal”. I explained to her twice YOU ALL had made a mistake and I needed to confirm it. Can you imagine had that been done to someone who has fertility issues and had been trying to get pregnant, only to be told whoops one of our Medical assistants messed that up. I understand mistakes happen. But when you all made a mistake, your receptionist could not have been more of Rude and unkind. That’s my last straw there. Never once did she call and apologize after being so rude either. Again, YOUR mistake. That no one cared about. I did get a message back from the PA I See. But again, your receptionist suck, and who is she to dictate when someone’s having a panic attack if it’s a valid reason or not.
Would not recommend if you need attentive care from your physician/nurses. They are not very accessible through phone, they prefer for most correspondence to be done through the portal which takes forever. Multiple times I had issues with medications that took 4-5 days to be fixed. Called the office due to extreme nausea and vomiting for over 3 days and was told a message would be sent to the nurse and they would contact me back. The nurse called back 2-3 hours later and by that time I was already in the emergency room. Sent a req for a appt due to these issues over 3 days ago and still havent heard anything back. I switched my care to a completely different network and got immediate help and an appointment scheduled already. Would not recommend unless you’re not going to need much of any assistance from the providers.
Angie the receptionist was not helpful it was like she was finding ways to turn me away when I informed her I wanted a woman OBGYN after collecting all my information and seeing I am already a existing patient she stated if I want a woman this isnt the right office for me. When I told her Ill take whoever she has confidence in which we scheduled for Dr. Baer Angie then sais because I dont have a primary doctor in the UC health system she wont be able to take me as a new patient. I explained Dr. Raley was my previous doctor in the UC Health system she said that wont work because its not a primary doctor. Anyways I called UC health Pikes Peak the receptionist is so sweet and helpful I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS OFFICE TOTAL LET DOWN.
I have had the best experience with Dr. Stowe-Quain. She delivered my first baby back in 2021. We had a lot of challenges along the way with preeclampsia and delivering a large baby. Her team could not have done a better job with the long labor and delivery. I also had Dr. Williams for the days after delivery at the hospital and she was extremely kind and made sure I was as comfortable as possible, given the pain I was in.I am currently seeing Dr. Stowe Quain again for my second pregnancy, and her knowledge, kindness and down to earth personality is exactly what I want for my OB. I couldnt recommend her enough. The staff at the front desk are organized and always kind when I walk in. I have never had any issues with them. The one thing I would change is one of the ultrasound techs is always really rushed when I get my ultrasound. She always comments that We will make this quick so we can get you in and out of here. When I go in for ultrasounds, it should be special time to get to see my baby. I dont want to be rushed! The other ultrasound tech is very kind and takes her time, and I am always happy when she calls my name to come back for the ultrasound.
Dr. Vandersluis is perhaps the most thorough and kindest provider I have ever met, not to mention she highly competent. There was a little wait to get scheduled and on the day of the appointment, but well worth it for the level of care I received. Her medical assistant (Lela I think?) was very kind as well. I would highly recommend this office.
The most disgusting lack of care ever received. My mother was in the emergency room and had an ambulatory referral sent here for imminent surgery. Rude receptionist Rebecca stated that, because my mother was not an established patient with their practice and the ER doctor did not call to consult their office while seeing her in the ER (over the weekend while they were closed, mind you), they would not be accepting her or able to help. When asked if it was a matter of insurance vs cash pay, Rebecca then told me she would report me for fraud. Our entire experience with UC Health from ER to this office to where we were recommended to go for care after being TURNED AWAY has been frustrating and frankly, negligent. We will be seeking legal recourse. Bottom line, save your time and your health -- just go to Centura Health/Penrose.
I established care with Dr. Vandersluis back in July 2021. I had just been laid off and had to switch to my husbands insurance while I was job hunting and unfortunately couldnt see the OBGYN that I had been seeing for the past three years, I was freaking out a little because we had just started trying to get pregnant in June. Honestly, Im so glad I had to make the switch because I love Dr. Vandersluis. Ive never felt rushed at our visits, she takes the time to answer my questions, and Ive seen her every time I have gone in (but would completely understand if I needed to see an NP at a particular visit due to Dr. V needing to be at the hospital for a birth or surgery) but just love how available and present she is. She is definitely a more laidback provider, which is perfect for me because I have a pretty laidback personality. I also love her MA (Lessa - probably not spelling that right). Even though my interactions with her are quick I always enjoy seeing her at my appointments!I have never had an issue with the front desk staff and have always found them to be polite, professional, and competent. Gloria is who I typically schedule with on my way out of appointments and she is very good at her job and knows what appointments you need scheduled. I know a few reviews said it is hard to get ahold of people on the phone, I cant say that that has been my experience either but I also have the UCHealth app and communicate through there pretty frequently. I would say they are quick to respond to my in app messages or even give me a call within 24 hours of sending in a question. The only issue I would say I have is one of the ultrasound techs always seems to be in such a rush! She will literally say to every patient she takes back that she will make it quick so we can get in and out. Well for someone who has had a smooth and low risk pregnancy (thank goodness) I was told I would only have two ultrasounds throughout my entire pregnancy and I dont want those to be rushed! I did get an extra ultrasound just recently to make sure baby was head down and got a different tech than I had had the previous two times and felt like she took so much more time with me! And this one probably should have been a quick in and out but she took the time to point out different body parts, took pictures of my babys cute little face and talked and engaged with me. I appreciated her taking the time she did when she really didnt have to. So that would be my only complaint or piece of advise to that one tech, I get it is your job and you look at babies all day long but I would think most of us parents dont want those appointments to be rushed - we only get so many opportunities to look at our babies before they are born.
I have used Rangewood OBGYN for both of my pregnancies and Dr. Stowe-Quain for both. My first pregnancy started pre-pandemic and they helped us navigate all of the new health issues and concerns with each. I was induced with my first and Dr. Stowe-Quain was so helpful during the process. She explained options, let me make choices about my care, and was so calm. My second pregnancy she helped guide me through the quick delivery and talked me through everything. I trust Dr. Stowe-Quain and she has been amazing through all of my prenatal and postnatal care. I will continue to use her for gynecology appointments because I have really enjoyed my time in her care.
Rude receptionist was annoyed when I told her I would need a female gynecologist because I have trauma with men. Not planning on going to this place after that experience.
Updating this because Michelle, the office manager connected with me personally and was very helpful and communicated that this should not have happened. She understood my frustration and said that if I run into any problems I can ask to speak with her.I had an okay experience with having our first child with this office. I was disappointed when I arrived to my appointment on-time and told I missed the appointment and they would need to reschedule me. If your patients need to be there 30 minutes before every appointment, your office just needs to do a better job a scheduling and allow for that time. Being on time for an appointment should never require a patient to reschedule, ever. This office made me wait more than 30 minutes on several occasions and should take more consideration and care with their patients.
Dr. Vandersluis has been a great OBGYN for my first pregnancy! She always makes my husband and I feel heard and answers all of our questions/concerns. We always feel less anxious by the time we leave. Thank you!
I had a great experience with the folks over at UC Health. Everyone went above and beyond for me and was SUPER nice and very pleasant! Never have I ever wanted to go to a dr appointment but they made it a good time. Thank you to Dr. Williams and her sweet staff. She took the time to really listen to what I was telling her and within a matter of 2 weeks I was in for surgery and feeling better than I had in over 3.5 years!
Dr. Williams is amazing. I always leave my appointments feeling listened to and taken care of. She has fantastic bedside manner. I am definitely nervous to deliver my baby, but I happy I will be in her hands.
I have Dr. Baer as a my OBGYN, and I have never had a better doctor ever! He listens to me, takes the time to answer any questions I have. Not to mention that with my first child, there were complications, and then He delivered my second successfully, no complications and within 20 minutes! Very grateful for him! I didn’t give a 5 star because I have had a good experience for the most part, but a few of the staff at the front desk aren’t as friendly! But as far as the overall care, this is definitely a place I would recommend.
Tried multiple times to reach this office to schedule a new OB appointment. No one answers the phone, no one returns calls and the two times I actually reached someone she kept telling me I needed a “referral.”My insurance doesn’t require a referral for obstetric appointments. No matter how many times I attempted to explain this, the receptionist would not listen. So I get the referral as she requested and crickets...I called one last time today and finally gave up. Went with another practice (who was highly recommended to my mother, who is a nurse) and my appointment was set with ease. No referral needed! This receptionist had good energy and was very kind. It’s unfortunate that this physician comes highly recommended but has such a terrible office staff.
Dr Shilling was knowledgeable, kind and caring AND judgement free! Best GYN I’ve ever seen. I highly recommend him.
Megan and Tara are amazing! Very patient and always answered all my questions. They make a great midwife team and compliment each other in regards to skill and knowledge. Always felt very comfortable in appointments. Moving away during third trimester of pregnancy and they were very helpful in transition. Will miss them!
On one hand, I had an amazing experience delivering my first child with Dr. Baer. I was impressed with staff and had an amazing complication free delivery. On the other hand, They will not let you switch providers within the practice. I have some personal reasons (that I would be willing to share privately) for wanting to switch to another doctor, but I would like to stay with the practice. I was disappointed in the way office staff spoke to me when asking about this and feel it’s very insensitive to patients needs to have a blanket policy of not switching. Why couldn’t they instead take it into consideration on a case by case basis? So, now I’m TTC my 2nd baby and stuck with either the choice of starting over at a different practice, or continuing care even though I would prefer another doctor. This has absolutely nothing to do with Dr. Baer and we throughly enjoyed our first experience with him, but I am so disappointed in these options and the way I was spoken to when inquiring.
I have never been treated so poorly as a patient in my entire life. None of the staff cares about you or your pregnancy. The medical assistants are far from helpful and rarely ever return a phone call. Then we you are really sick, they never call to check on you or make any extra effort to show concern or care. I expressed this to the clinical manager and the next thing I know, I am fired from the clinic for being unhappy with their clinic. I would NEVER recommend this clinic
Love this practice and love Dr. Stowe-Quain. I was really nervous going into my second birth because my first (with another doctor) wasn’t a great experience. After countless recommendations we chose to switch to this practice. Dr. Stowe-Quain did an amazing job discussing all my options and answering all my questions. On 05/15/2019 my son made his arrival and I couldn’t be more pleased with how everything went. All of my birth wishes were respected and my son and myself are both happy and healthy.
Horrible experience. My appointment was cancelled on me because I showed up on time to my appointment, and was then told my doctor had a meeting that seemed to conflict with my appointment time. But then saw another patient immediately after having that conversation with me.Interestingly enough, in the past I’ve had experiences where I don’t get seen until 5-10 minutes after my scheduled appointment.Do not recommend.
Dr J. Williams has been the best OBGYN I have ever had out of all of my pregnancies. I’m having my third boy in a little over a week. She is respectful, understanding, and she actually cares for her patients. It’s not routine to her, it’s a passion that you can see she has with every visit and every patient. Appointments don’t take long either, in and out everytime. :)
This clinic has terrible phone access and failed to report important tests results to me in a timely manner when I went there 2 years ago. I just called to get some records and was left on hold for 10 minutes only to be routed to voicemail. If you have serious health issues or are a first time mom I would seek a more organized practice who can actually handle their phones. To be fair I did get a fairly quick call back this last time. But I know this can be better patient experience because I have had it elsewhere. Maybe with fewer patients they might be able to do a better job in handling calls and test results.
Dr. Alicia Vandersluis is very professional and listens to your concerns. Her team of Nurse Practitioners are awesome. I refer all pregnant women from our medical practice to her.
Every doctor and nurse here, is talented and well trained. My experiences with Dr Baer, however, have always left me profoundly grateful for his care. He is an incredibly committed and kind doctor. I will always be thankful for his care and ease of bringing two of my children into this world.
Love this place! The office staff is very kind and helpful. We saw Dr. Stowe-Quain and absolutely loved her! She took her time with us at every appointment and always made sure we never left with any unanswered questions. She was awesome before, during, and after delivery, as well. She is very friendly and personable and I honestly could not say enough good things about her.
I absolutely LOVE them! Dr Jessica Williams was with me through out my entire pregnancy and was just fantastic! I still go for my annuals and I’ve seen a couple other NPs and they’ve all just been so amazing. They’re great with getting back to you, answering your questions and it’s always a positive experience.
I went to this office for 2 out of my 4 kids and I would have went for the other 2 but we were military at the time. I can not say enough good things about this office. The staff is so nice and very professional. My first child was born in 2007 and I loved my whole experience with the office that I wanted to go back for my fourth child. My previous doctor was no longer with the office so I was seen by Dr. Stowe-Quain. She is a sweetheart and always gave me her full attention. I really felt like I was her top priority at my appointments and delivery. I love this office, I love Dr. Stowe-Quain and I look forward to my future appointments at this office. And sue is really great!!!!
Doctors have been fine but you guys are gonna lose a lot of clients with how disrespectful and condescending your receptionist are. Absolutely zero help. She was rude as hell on the phone and talked to me like I was stupid. I will not be coming back.
I have had a terrible experience with this office. The front desk and clinical staff do not return calls, and it is impossible to get in touch with anyone. When I have tried to leave a message, often I have not been able to record more than a few seconds (and they ask you to leave a lot of information) before I get cut off by the machine. Due to the inefficiency of the staff to return my calls promptly and provide helpful answers from my doctor, I decided my only option to get help was to physically go in and see her. As I had previously been in for the same issue, to discuss my birth control options, I figured this appointment would also be covered by my insurance. I ended up getting a bill for $120 for speaking to my doctor for less than 10 minutes about my birth control, which Kaiser (my insurance) specified should be covered! I spoke with Kaiser, UC Health, called and left messages at this office, and finally had to physically go into the office (as of course my calls hadnt been returned) to ask what had happened. They said it was the coding and that I would be getting a call by the end of the week from Kaiser about the issue. Its been several weeks and I havent heard a thing, despite leaving the office messages when the machine has allowed me to. This is unacceptable and I am very frustrated with how this has been handled (or not been handled).UPDATE: the office has refused to adjust the coding of my appointment. I’m not sure why it took months to even get to this point where I was able to speak to an office manager about the fact that they are unwilling to correct their side of the situation, but I will not be returning to this office.
The good: The doctors here are awesome. The rest? Good luck getting someone at the front desk to answer the phone. I even go to my UC Health portal, request an appointment, and Ive been waiting over a week. This has been my OB for 7 years and Im ready to make the change because their front desk is GOD AWFUL. Also, did you get some test results you dont know how to read? Good luck! You wont get a call for that until 48-72 hours until after they are posted, thats IF you get a call.
As an ESRD Patient, the great and gorgeous Tani Ryan has been such a blessing in helping me pick the right birth control, being flexible with appointments (thankfully, she works around my dialysis), and answering all my questions. The rest of the staff are friendly, amazing, and helpful! My family member recommended me to them and I have NEVER been disappointed!
Im giving this place two stars instead of one because the NP that I saw really was awesome, but that was the only good experience I had there. I had to physically go into the office to get answers to my questions or to fix mistakes they made with my prescription and appointments. Im not sure whats up with their front desk, but their phone system seems disorganized and unprofessional. Ive never had this many issues with any other doctor Ive ever had. I switched ob/gyn last month and have no regrets about leaving.
Dr Stowe - Quain delivered my son this May and now she is one of my favorite people... Lol! (Having your first baby is quite an experience!) I want everyone to know what a great doctor she is because everyone should have the support and kindness of an excellent doctor and there arent many like Dr. Stowe Quain. Before the delivery, Dr. Stowe - Quain was extremely knowledgeable about every question my husband and I asked. She would always ask, What else? and we felt she really cared about educating us as much as possible so we could make well informed decisions and feel confident about what to expect. I worked with two other doctors from AWHC earlier in my pregnancy before Dr. Stowe - Quain. We didnt have a good experience with them because they rushed us and even treated us with contempt for asking certain questions about vaccinations and FMLA. What a different experience with Dr. Stowe - Quain. She knows her stuff and is almost eager to provide information on different options. She is also extremely positive and friendly. She made me feel more hopeful and excited about my delivery. She cared about understanding my wishes for the birth (I wanted to try to go natural but wasnt against an epidural if the pain was too bad.) She went into detail about exactly how she planned to help me induce the labor (I was 41weeks) as gradually as possible. I felt like she really understood what I wanted and was on my side. This is hugely important because there are doctors out there who will take shortcuts and perform unnecessary procedures like the episiotomy just to speed up the process. This comes at great expense to the mom who will have a much more painful healing process from having that procedure done. On the day of induction, Dr. Stowe - Quain was there every few hours, all through the night and several times the next day until I delivered. I wonder if she got any sleep! Other practices have a network of doctors that may deliver your baby so you dont know for sure who it will be depending on when you go into labor. But if Dr. Stowe - Quain is your Dr, shes the one who will deliver. When I finally delivered, she was there encouraging me through the whole process. I really appreciated her so much!
In 2012/2013 I had Dr. Fuller-Eddins she was awesome but unfortunately she was away when I delivered so Dr. Stowe-Quaine delivered my son. She then moved and now Im pregnant with my second baby and still going to this obgy office. Dr. Stowe-Quaine is my new OB now 2015/2016 I havent been able to see her yet at my 7 weeks of being pregnant because shes super swamped with patients but the nurse practitioners are super sweet and caring. I do know from previous experience with Stowe-Quaine that shes very informative and professional but also personal and comfortable to speak with. The front desk staff is usually very busy but Ive never had a problem with them being rude or not helpful. I always get a call back if I cant get through when I call. They are all very nice and professional. I love this office and I would never got anywhere else.
Every appointment seemed like a challenge for the office staff to find new ways to be challenging and inappropriate. They were never friendly, were not knowledgeable, and even discussed my private and devastating medical information (I had just lost a baby) loudly in the waiting room. There were lengthy delays in issuing prescriptions, and a lack of compassion (as when I was told to come back in a week or two when I reported pain severe enough that I had not slept in days). I have never been so thoroughly disappointed by a medical provider, and I regret that I stayed with the practice as long as I did. Hopefully, others will be spared my mistake.
Wonderful experience with prenatal care and delivery. My doctor is Dr.Stowe-Quain who is amazing, funny, and an all around down to earth doctor. So lucky to have her in my life! Sadly, she could not do my delivery but understandably so, this woman works incredibly hard and deserves a night off (if not so much more!). She did come in the next day to check on me and baby though, how wonderful that was! Dr.Baer ended up delivering my baby and although I had not met him before, could not have been luckier to have him deliver. He was very kind, caring, patient (as he did wait at the hospital to deliver baby; who does that?) and provided me with a lot of down to earth information about the delivery. He also delivered my baby in the way I wanted her delivered (not all doctors respect your wishes). The office staff is also top-notch. Kerry is a very knowledgeable nurse with a great personality and I am sure would be a great delivery nurse. Thanks to everyone at this practice, and especially to Doctors Stowe-Quain and Baer!
Absolutely the worst care I have ever had, especially during pregnancy. The employees here dont care about you or your baby. They are just fear mongering doctors who act like they know more then they do before getting more information about a situation. Aside from the education that these doctors are clearly lacking they could really use some practice in developing some kind of trust and relationship with their patients.
If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Dr. Baer and his assistant are both amazing!! They are always on time if not ahead of schedule, often times I’m done and leaving before my actually appt time. Super efficient, friendly and you can tell they really care about their patients! Thank you!!
I had a great experience with Dr. Stowe Quain with my first pregnancy and delivery. Definitely open and supportive of natural birth, and I felt like I could refuse any service I didnt feel comfortable with. Highly recommend!!
I was booked a week ahead of time with a 3pm appointment when I got there they had me pee in a cup and then checked my blood pressure and temperature and weighed me. Then when I went to the back they gave me a pap smear and tried to see if they can hear my babies heart beat. I thought I was 10 weeks pregnant. They couldnt find a heartbeat. They did not make a follow up appointment they didnt give me information about anything whatsoever. It was the worst experience. I paid them to tell me nothing. Very uninformative. When I asked for an ultra sound all they said is that they can try to give me a call if someone cancels or delivers. I wasnt told I a due date, I wasnt even told if I am pregnant which I know I am but this place is terrible and I wouldnt suggest ever expecting them to care for you or your child.
My wife and I LOVE LOVE LOVE Dr Autumn Stowe-Quain!After having our first child we wouldnt recommend anyone else in town beside Dr Autumn Stowe-Quain!!We started with a different practice here in town. We switched to Colorado Springs OB after 7mos with the other practice because 2 different doctors gave us subpar service and lacked compassion and professionalism. We were referred to Dr Stowe-Quain by close friends who raved about how wonderful she and her practice is to work with. Our friends said they were treated like family at Colorado Springs OB.We found the staff are friendly and professional and the OB and nurses actually spend time answering questions, showing compassion, talking to me the father about questions I have as a new dad (I was ignored and discounted at the other practice by both doctors) and here at Colorado Springs OB they genuinely enjoy helping their patients bc they are patient focused on everything they do.The birth went very well and Dr Stowe-Quain guided us through the last few weeks and through the labor/delivery with such sweet and kind encouragement and care for our wishes. She genuinely loves her job and caring for the people who entrust this precious experience to her.We will only use Dr. Stowe-Quain for any future children we might have and we highly recommend her if you want to feel like part of her family rather than just another customer.
Do NOT come here. They are not trustworthy and do not care about you or your baby. I had an appointment with some spotting and cramping. I was there at my appointment time and they said that I had to be 30 minutes early and NO ONE told me. They refused to see me. I went to the hospital and they said they ABSOLUTELY should have seen me. I will be filing a report and talking with a lawyer to get this resolved. That was 100% ON THEM and they should have not punished my unborn child for it. Luckily the hospital is going to file a report and I am going to file one individually as well. The office aide was obscenely rude. I will be filing a report against her as well. Shame on her. As another pregnant woman, she should have not treated me the way she did. They do not need to be treating women and their unborn children.
They mis diagnosed me not once, not twice but three times!! My brother is a malpractice lawyer and we are taking action. I do not recommend anyone going here. They couldnt even diagnose a simple Uti for me, that than lead to my kidneys and a very bad dilation on my sides which lead to me being hospitalized and it wasnt good for my unborn child. Terrible, terrible!! Do not go here!! They do not know what they are doing and dont have professionals working there. I went into the ER right after leaving and they were very furious with this location. They even took down my doctors name so that they could let other woman who go to this location know. I wouldnt trust them with my dog, let alone mg unborn child.
Very disappointed and let down with the faculty at this facility. Unprofessional p.a. and will be moving care providers. I suggest if you like waiting 30 to 45 minutes past your appt time to be seen then yes go here but if not then steer clear.
I had an appointment at 4:30. I showed up exactly at 4:30 and was turned down because they said I had to be 30 minutes early. When I scheduled my appointment, I told the scheduler that I needed an later appointment because I have 4 girls and my husband does not get off until 4:00 so It has to be 4:30 or later. Why wasn’t I told that I couldn’t show up exactly at my appointment time and that I HAD to be 30 mins earlier then? When I explained this to the receptionist and also explained that I was in a lot of pain and needed to see a doctor, she could care less and just offered me another appointment that was two weeks out. These people do not care. Horrible!
Very very impressed with this practice. I had been going to a different OBGYN with excruciating pains on my right side for months and she refused to help so I started going here. My initial appointment was with Amy Quist and she felt instantly that there needed to be a scope done to see what was going on. She made me feel listened to and extremely comfortable. I then was sent to Dr. Baer to do the procedure and behold it was endometriosis. Dr. Baer’s bed side manner is AMAZING. Through everything he made me feel very comfortable and went through things very thoroughly with me so I felt educated on everything going on. I highly recommend this practice.
Choose autumn Stowe-quain. If you cant get her ask for kari. Theyre both awesome sauce. But seriously ask for autumn. : ) shes the most down to earth respectful gyno Ive ever met. She is funny and makes everything comfortable and chill, instead of super awkward and wretched. I had a lot of issues when I had my hysterectomy and she never quit on me. Just constantly went to bat and tried new stuff til I was completely issues free. That lady is worth her weight in gold. my son was delivered by autumn and even after he was born she would come check on me and see how I was doing. I wish I found her before. When I had my daughter, the gyno I had back then was 3hrs late when I went into labor, she showed up for 5 mins and was gone. (Her name so you can avoid her was Debra Lasley.) my labor and delivery nurse did pretty much everything. Take my word for it, you want autumn. : )
The wait time was long to be seen! But the overall experience was very good. The doctor met my expectations and gave me helpful ideas and options to think about and consider. I felt I was heard and I did not feel very rushed. The appointment ran smooth and the staff was friendly. I would recommend this office and doctor.
Dr. Baer was amazing both during my pregnancy and delivery. The office staff was great and Sue gave us so much help and information. I was gestational diabetic, and I was helped throughout the pregnancy whenever I was scared or worried with how that was affecting me and baby. Also, Dr. Baer stayed in the hospital during my long labor to make sure he was there when it was time. I hope to have all my children with Dr. Baer.
If I could give them no stars, know that I would. I have endometriosis and had heard that one of the doctors here knew quite a bit about that so I made an appointment to see her. I recently moved to Colorado Springs from Denver and *apparently* my insurance was a problem because of that. Either way I got a written letter from my insurance and jumped through all the hoops just so I could see this doctor. Three times I had to reschedule my appointment off of their orders because the papers havent gone through or were just not allowed to see you. The day of my pre-op I received a phone call saying I wasnt allowed to come in or get my pre-op because of my insurance, they called a mere 30 minutes before my appointment and I had called the day prior to confirm everything was good to go and was told it was. My father and I showed up anyways with all of our paperwork and the letter from the Head of my insurance company giving me permission to see this doctor (and yes my father joined me because Ive been dealing with horrible doctors and Im not great at standing up for myself, not to mention Im so ill I cant drive myself anywhere). Once we walked in and asked to speak to one of the manager ladies to try to figure out what was going on THEY CALLED THE COPS ON US. Said we had threatened them. The doctor I was supposed to see even came out crying to the police saying how awful we were and how we made her feel unsafe (even though this was the first time Id seen her that day and before this she had promised me shed work with me to figure out the insurance to get my surgery???) needless to say, im angry, no, Im beyond angry. These people are absolutely deplorable! They fought us on every front, every time we fixed a problem (which was truly a made up one on THEIR end not my insurances end) they came up with a billion others. I had paid OUT OF POCKET for my first visit because they hadnt informed me of the issue prior to me showing up and my mother had come up all the way from Denver to help me. They should all be ashamed of themselves, if they dont want to work with people who arent having babies then just say so!
The midwives here are awesome. However, the front office is horrible. Unfortunately, if you call, you canNOT get through to anyone. My daughter is 37 weeks pregnant, had back labor throughout the weekend with a few scattered contractions. She was unable to make her 11 a.m. appointment Monday morning due to the fact her husbands truck broke down and he had to take her car to work. She started calling at 9 a.m. She called FIVE times, left THREE messages, and no one EVER called her back. She lives 45 minutes away, but is thinking she should just try to drive up to get to talk to someone. To have such wonderful doctors and midwives, its a shame that one has to suffer through not being able to get ahold of ANY of them. This is very sad. I really wish for her sake that there was another office that offered midwives who were accessible.
I was a patient of the midwives here in 2016.I loved Megan! She listened to every concern, no matter how small or insignificant I thought it was. Through my whole labor and delivery she was there, coaching me and comforting me.Im so sad that they no longer have their midwives at the practice. Ill follow Megan to whichever practice she goes next.
I had my records sent here a week ago, I’m in desperate need of prenatal care, but I can’t even get a call back. This office does not care about patients whatsoever. Go elsewhere.
Dr. Stowe-Quain is very kind and understanding. Listens well and asks good follow up questions, is thorough in gathering information. Doesn’t make you feel rushed. Gives good advice and treatment suggestions.
Dr. Jessica williams is the best!!!!I can not say enough good about her. She is completely amazing. She always put me at ease and reassured me, answered all my questions every time :) .... highly recommended..
Not a Friendly Office. If you like being funneled through a corporate tunnel of greed and inhuman interactions bolstered by a staff that is unwelcoming, I highly recommend these guys. They are great at having you fill out the same paperwork each time you visit, requiring that you reschedule if you are anything less than 15 minutes early, and requiring that you not inconvenience their office in anyway while shorting you on the health care you are visiting them for.
Jessica helped me birth a handsome bundle of joy on July 7, 2017! Forever grateful for her & her services. Along with the team! Whenever I had questions regarding my pregnancy she was all ears. Thank you!
We worked with both of the CNMs here and they were wonderful. Jolene was so great during the delivery of my second child, and I couldnt be more grateful for her guiding my wife and I through labor & delivery. Everyone here is fantastic!
Colorado Springs OB/GYN is truly the best. They delivered my first born and helped me through a miscarraige. They have always treated me with respect, took my concerns seriously, and they answer all my questions.
Providers are great, front office staff never answers the phone and after leaving numerous messages still no call back to schedule appointment, I reached out again and finally heard back to have a lady be very rude about the type of appointment needed and no sensitivity to my situation/loss. Its really too bad because I really liked the Providers here but wont be back due to the front office issues that are constant.
Dr. Baer is THE BEST OBGYN! I have 4 children of which he delivered 3 of. He also performed both surgeries I had to undergo. Would never go to another OBGYN if given the choice. I have nothing but praise for him.
Met Tara Drerup at a new moms/expecting mothers event, and found her rude and tactless. I made a different choice for my birth (Homebirth with a CPM) and she made me feel so small because of it. There are so many wonderful options in Colorado Springs, and you most certainly want someone who will respect you even if/when you make a choice they wouldnt have made. I would not recommend Tara. Anyone can become qualified, but the soft skills -- the spirit -- is what makes for a great experience.
I am a patient There need to be seen and I have not been able to schedule an appointment on the portal. I just get a message stating” I’m sorry there are no appointments at this time.” Then I tried to call twice to speak with reception to make an appointment. Was put on hold and then I get a message stating their system is having issues and no one can take my call. I guess I’ll be going elsewhere
I have had 5 children. Doctor Baer was my doctor for my fifth child. He was amazing! The staff was exceptional and Dr. Baer was by far the best doctor I have ever had. I would recommend him to anyone.
I started going to this practice. I was seeing Dr Stowe-Quain. She is very nice and took time to answer any questions I had. I didnt find out till after I was there for my appt that it would be $60 co pay instead of the typical $25 I normally pay because theyre specialists. I was never informed of that and didnt feel it was worth the extra $35 a visit to keep the dr. I ended up changing to a different practice. Again, liked the dr but not enough to pay the extra co-pay.
Wow! Made an appointment because I was referred here by someone I know....they took my insurance info over the phone and confirmed it was accepted. Once I drove three (yes 3) hours to get to the appointment (of course taking off work) they inform me that they did not not renew the contract with Colorado choice (my insurance carrier) and even worse....this was known by their office! Their excuse was that maybe whoever booked my appointment was new and did not really understand what insurance they took (or recently stopped taking)...to top it off they would not let me self pay to get the exam I came for. What sorry customer service...
Absolutely love Dr. Stowe-Quain. She delivered my my son last month. This was a completely different experience from the delivery of my first son. My husband and I couldnt be happier!
Rebecca was very helpful in communicating with my job for FMLA. Thank you for making the process easier for me and them!
Great services!Dr. Williams always take time to listen and answer all my concerns. This was my second surgery with her and everything went great, she’s Amazing and all the staff as well. Thank you for everything!
This place is a joke. I was a patient with them but they refused to put the time I wanted on my fmla that I PAID FOR. I requested a refund because i was going to a office that was giving me what I wanted and I never received a call or anything. They never pick up and charged me and sent a bill to collections that was 100% covered by my insurance. Stay far.
Dr. Jessica Williams is a fantastic OB who full listens to her patients cares and concerns. Make sure she is your doc for your next pregnancy!
Quoted from Jason below! My wife and I LOVE LOVE LOVE Dr Autumn Stowe-Quain!She is no doubt incredible! If we can, were always going back to her!
Dr. Stowe-Quain is just awesome. She always has a smile and and makes you feel comfortable. Highly recommended!
Dr. Williams is an amazing doctor but ever since UC Health took over there always messing up people’s appointments today I got a call for the third time that I had to reschedule my appointment there either over booked or somebody didn’t show up it’s very disappointing when your excited to see baby also the building is not as home feeling I’ve been going here about 3 years now and it used to be just like home when u walked in now it’s just a typical doctors office very disappointing who ever owned it before should not have sold it to UC health
I saw Rachael Blea today and was extremely happy with my visit. This was my first visit at this location, and she really took the time to answer all of my questions and concerns. I will definitely be recommending this office to others!
I’ve been referred here from friends and family and yet every time I try to call to make an appointment nobody can even answer the phone. I’ve been trying for at least a week now and I got one call back 5 minutes before they closed telling me I needed to call back the next day. It’s incredibly frustrating. UPDATE: I did finally get a call back and they were very polite and got me scheduled right away.
Dr. Baer has horrible bedside manner and does not take the proper amount of time to offer any level of quality care. Cattle get better care in dairy farms.
I had a really upsetting experience and am switching to a different practice. I would not recommend this to anyone who wants to feel safe and heard as a patient.
Front desk staff is extremely rude and unprofessional, I called to make an appointment the receptionist that answered the phone didn’t want to listen to my concerns or let me talk and hang up the phone on me.
The staff here is amazing! Dr. Stowe-Quain was wonderful during dealing with my unusual pregnancy complications and recovery!
He is absolutely wonderful with my sister who is learning disability, she feels so comfortable and she absolutely adores him.
Dr Baer is fantastic! He’s definitely an OBGYN that cares and answers all your questions. Wonderful staff as well.
Called to make my first appointment, took all my information down and stated they would call me back. Never did. Looking at the reviews, this seems to be a common complaint with scheduling.
Dr. Williams my amazing doctor she is so caring and helpful!!! As long as shes in Colorado springs practicing I will be her patient.
Dr. Vandersluis is amazing! The receptionists at the front desk are a little rude.
Every time I go here, they take such great care of me and provide me with all the best information. They are all super knowledgeable and respectful. I love this place!
Dr Baer is a great doctor. Listens to your needs and very communicative!
Dr. Baer is the best. I was referred to him by a friend, couldnt be happier for it. Patient and thorough.
I’ve been trying to change my care to the springs. Called this number over 10x with no response and going directly to front desk vm. Not impressed at all
Been here a few times already. Everyone is very friendly and professional. Highly recommend!
The office visits were always fast and never had to wait long for my appointments.
No one answers the phone..Ive called 5 times on different occasions trying to schedule an appointment... And nothing.. zip... Nada..Ill try somwhere else.
One of the best practices in Colorado Springs. Safe, honest care.
Dr Baer and his staff are beyond amazing. After multiple losses he made my dream come true. 💛
Dr. Baer is one of the most professional and caring Doctors Ive seen. Very professional staff.
The front desk staff either makes or breaks a practice and my experience with the front desk staff here was not a pleasant or inviting one whatsoever.
Dr Williams at this location is Awesome and the staff is Terrific!
Wont ever pick up their phone and will never get back to me.
Dr Baer & office staff are the best in town!
Best care, best service. Exceed my expectations!
Wonderful practice! Feel well cared for.
The negligence this facility shows is incredible.
Dr. Baer is a wonderful physician.
I had a great experience.
Love doctor Baer
All the attention they gave us was quality, dignified and equal.
